On Thursday before Good Friday, both first grades planted 3 different kinds of seeds: lima beans, kidney beans, and pumpkin seeds. The tallest ones are the kidney bean plants. The pumpkin seeds came from the pumpkin our first grade carved at Halloween!

Ford shared something important that was given to him by his grandfather: gloves he can use when playing baseball and football. He's looking forward to using them very soon in the game of baseball!!!

100TH DAY OF SCHOOL ACTIVITY

We listened to a story about a hungry wolf looking for a hen so he could have chicken stew. He found one, but decided she needed to be a little fatter, so he took 100 pancakes, 100 doughnuts, and a 100 pound cake to her house, leaving them at the front door. He finally decides she's fat enough and goes to collect his fat, juicy hen, only to find out that he's been feeding 100 baby chicks. The baby chicks love him on sight, and he turns from a mean old wolf to a sweet "uncle" wolf. While the children were at P.E. I hid 100 chicks and they went on a chick hunt. Found all but three. Still looking for these!
